Arnold Ray Houghtaling, 70, passed away January 10, 2013 at Einstein Hospital in Norristown, PA after suffering a massive heart attack.

He was predeceased by his first wife Martha Jerkins Houghtaling, his second wife, Dolores DiGiovanni Houghtaling, his parents, Arnold P. and Gladys Kilpatrick Houghtaling, and an uncle, Irving Packard Houghtaling.  Arnold is survived by his loving and faithful companion of 26 years, Terri Cappelli of Plymouth Meeting, PA; sister, Susan H. Odom of Rabun Gap, GA; Son, David Houghtaling (Sheri) of Eagleville, PA; daughter, Susan H. Burdo (David) of Jeffersonville, PA; son, Bill Houghtaling (Dee) of Clewiston, FL, nephews and nieces, Chris DiNofrio (Rachel) of Lakemont, GA, Stephen DiNofrio (Bonnie) of Denver, CO; Janice Falconberry (Wade) of Milford, OH; grandchildren, Lea Rodriguez, Talon Houghtaling, Richard Houghtaling, all of Clewiston, FL; David and Kristen Burdo of Jeffersonville, PA; Kayla Houghtaling of Eagleville, PA; two great-grandchildren, twins Isaak and Isayah Rodriguez; and several grand-nieces and nephews.

Arnold was born October 1, 1942 in Elmira, NY and was raised in Florida and lived most of his adult life in Montgomery County, PA.  He attended Leon High School in Tallahassee, FL and Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School in NE Georgia, where he was involved with the Alumni.  He entered the Marine Corps in the early 1960s.  He also loved Florida State University where his mother worked for many years in Public Relations, and he was an avid sports enthusiast of FSU, the Philadelphia Eagles, the Phillies, and all other sports.  He had several health problems which seemed to be under control, and he will be terribly missed by all his family.

Volpe Funeral Home in Norristown, PA is in charge of arrangements.  Arnold will be cremated and there will be no funeral service.
