Helen Swilley Reese 74, passed away unexpectedly September 3, 2017. Helen was born December 1, 1942 in Camilla, Georgia to Margaret and Jack William Swilley, Sr. Helen was born while her father was serving in the United States Army in the Pacific theatre of World War ll. As a child of a military father she lived abroad in Japan and Guam also in California, Nevada, Texas, Utah, Arizona, and South Carolina.

Helen had worked for the State of Florida for over 30 years before retiring. She rose through the ranks of employment with the state to the level of Bureau Chief with the Department of Business and Professional Regulation, Division of Hotels and Restaurants. While there she met her husband George David Reese and they made Tallahassee their home. Both were loyal Seminole fans and spent many a Saturday cheering on FSU. She was predeceased by her husband and parents. Left to mourn her passing are brothers Jack Swilley, Jr. (Jenny), Charles Swilley (Deborah), and Roger Swilley (Victoria); step daughters Debi Reese, Leslie Gilmore, Tracy Reese, and Kym Reese; nIeces Jacquelyn Jordan, Courtney Swilley, Elizabeth Candido, Allison Sadler, Brooke Swilley, and Erin Swilley; nephew Smith Swilley; great nieces and nephews; and her best friend Alice Brady.
