Location Change for Class of 1960 4th Friday Luncheon

Hey everybody! Our luncheons have become so popular, that the parking lot of Beef O'Brady on Thomasville Road, was just over whelmed with our crowd last month!! Also, they have 3 other lunch locations in that shopping center, and it simply is not enough parking for us. So effective with the February 4th Friday, which will be February 25th, we will begin meeting at the Beef O'Brady at the Kerry Forest Parkway location. It is just across Thomasville Road from the big "North" Walmart store. The manager assures me that we will not have a problem with the parking. He is looking forward to us being there. Everything else will be the same! We have their meeting room from 11:30 to 1:30 and you can order anything on the menu. I have asked that we have more waitress help also. The manager said he would be glad to hire another person if we are going to have 12 or more. In January we had 23, plus several people emailed me that they just rode around the parking lot and never did get a parking space. It would help if some of you could let me know if you can attend on the 25th. I want to be sure that he has adequate waitress help for us. Remember that your tip is included on your ticket. We can also arrange the tables anyway we want.
At the January luncheon, several people suggested we have name cards or name tags, because "some of us" have trouble remembering everyone after "over" 50 years!! We will just put first names on them, and of course very Large Print! If you will all be regular attendees, then after a few months you will have everyone's name down pat!
As always, I ask you to tell all our classmates, that you see or are in touch with, about our luncheons, and encourage them to come. Everyone that has been coming since last June, has really enjoyed seeing old friends. We are all finding out that the saying "the more things change, the more they are the same". I am thinking that we might not meet during the summer months because so many people plan trips during that time. However, I am open to all your thoughts and ideas. Class of 1960 Monthly Lunches

Leon High Class of 1960 is going to start having lunch on the 4th Friday of each month, beginning with June 25th, 2010. It will be at Beef of Brady's on Thomasville Road, which is in the Capital Plaza. The time is 11:30 to 2:00PM. It's in the same location as the Five Guys Hamburger store, next to JO ANN's Fabric store.
We have reserved the back room which will hold up to 120 people.
The best things about this are that you don't have to make a reservation, you can order off their menu, and you get your own check. You can also bring any guest, spouse, or children with you. And you can get to visit with your former classmates!! We are hoping to get a good crowd in June of 25-30 people or more. It would be great way to show our spirit by having 50 or more at this first meeting. These rooms are in big demand, and a lot of other High School classes have already "reserved" their times, and have been meeting there for a number of years.

At Billy Gwynn's signing party for Sandy Sims's book Saturday night, Margaret Ausley Stalvey told me that our class 70th Birthday Celebration will take place May 19 at the Capital City Country Club.
Please scratch the previous dates I'd asked you to hold and mark your calendar for May 19. And please spread the word to our out-of-Tallahassee classmates who are not receiving this message!!
Watch for more details from Margaret, Joanne Wadsworth Brown and other committee members.
And, thanks to Bill Gwynn for hosting the book signing for Sandy. A really good time was had by all!!

2012 Update
We have it every month from 11:45AM - 1:00PM or later, except for November and December. In 2010, we were meeting at the Beef O'Brady on Thomasville Rd. in the Capital Plaza shopping center. Last January of 2011, we moved to the Beef O' Brady in the Kerry Forest Parkway shopping center. We have lots of parking at the Kerry Forest Parkway Beef O' Brady. We have from 15 to 32 people each month. We accept "guys and gals", friends and relatives with our Class members. Everyone gets a separate ticket, and tip is included. We have their sports bar room. Plus they usually have a special on the Menu. Prices are very reasonable. Joanne Wadsworth Brown
